Maya is about 5 months old now. Since birth, we had a feeling that this was a sharp little girl we have. When we sing to her, she "sings" back. We read her books, hoping to encourage her vocabulary. Sure, we read her stories about Clifford the Big Red Dog and books about nap time, but every little bit helps. And it has finally paid off. We are so happy with the new form of communication Maya has picked up.

Who is this???
My name is Maya Zieren, born on March 22, 2009. My mommy and daddy wanted to have a place for my friends and family to go and watch me grow up, and you found it! My mommy and daddy are Michelle (Schimek) and Andy Zieren. I also have a big brother, Eddie. He is a 9 year old Jack Russel Terrier, and will be my main competition for toys and affection. Together, we live in Carlyle, Illinois.
We also get plenty of love from my other family members. My grandmas and grandpas are John and Nancy Zieren, and Bill and Denise Schimek. I even have great grandparents... Paul Zieren, Cleo Krebs and Gert Strazer and my cousins, Lauren Zieren and Olivia and Jake Heinzmann and another Zieren cousin due in November! I can't forget about my aunts and uncles, Brad and Joelle Zieren, Adam and Lisa Zieren, Jeff Schimek and Melissa Heinzmann.
